What were you doing? Trying to find a good song on the radio before you took off??? j/k

Well, I'm honest and didn't want to "cheat" by leaving before green !!
Yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it...
Actually my reaction time is good...
I just didn't remember how much mass the heavy X has, so I waited until the last light b4 green to go... hindsight says I should have left at two lights before green....

next time I'll know... if i feelt he need for more fun... (legally !)

but didn't matter - it was just like a regular saturday night drive
just with power braking....

Hey, but I got REAL cheers from the crowd when I did a burnout to "warn" the tires
left it in 2 wheel drive and boosted it until the rear end broke loose with the brakes still on....
could have smoked the tires as long as I wanted...
but it started going sideways and the guy at the lights eyes got REAL big when the 8K+ lbs pointed at him and he knew I was a novice driver at the track !!!
Also, knew it was just for show and doesn't help the life span of AT tires OR the start !!!

Not trying to steal the thread..... but speaking of the fastest X....... Whatever happened to MRRottnDog? His has to be one of the fastest... if not the one with the most $$ in it.

He's around occassionally, but I think he hangs out on "other" sites. What I remember about his X is that it's barely driven! He always had really low mileage on it.

FYI, here's a 14-second Excursion by Hypermax:

I always wanted their full kit. I only made it as far as their chip, downpipe, and exhaust. Never could justify the big ticket items. But man, it sure would be COOL.

Wow... 7000 dollars for all that stuff they have for an X... ouch. I think researching a custom turbo/intercooler would do wonders for that price list.

So why are the injectors so expensive? I've never seen them less than $1000.

Speaking of kit cars, my stepfather owns a superformance cobra in Charlotte. Only yellow/black one I've seen there. What kit car do you own?

When I was staioned in Germany, I ran 153 on the autobahn in my wife's Saab 9-3 Turbo. My 93 Mustang 5.0 (with mods) would run up there too, but the speedo only went to 140. The Taurus wagon with Superchip and SHO wheel /tire package ran about 135, from what I could determine from tach calculations. We now have none of those cars

Could you put a Dodge viper engine inside an Excursion? If so how fast would it go? I know that they are two different companies, but I need to know.

Also, could you put a GT-40 engine in an Excursion? If so how fast would that go?

Anything is possible.

You'd get better results from modifying the diesel that can already come in an Excursion vs. "putting in" a GT-40 engine or a Viper engine. Those are typically race motors designed for high HP and high revving. The low-end torque of the diesel will help propel the nearly 8,000 lbs. vehicle from a dead stop. Diesel innovations has a SuperDuty powerstroke running an 11.54 quarter mile.
